Our Philosophy

Giving is human. We build like it.

Something broke.

Giving is one of the most human things we do. It's how we show up for each other in grief, in gratitude and in hope.

No one donates because a form loaded fast. We donate because we're moved—for one reason or another—to give back.

And yet.

Donor retention has declined for over a decade. The total number of donors is shrinking. And you're working harder than ever.

So what happened?

We forgot why people give in the first place. In our obsession with conversion rates and frictionless checkouts, giving became a commodity.

Legacy Providers

  • A piece of code to inject into your website.

  • The form renders most of the time, but it makes giving feel like booking a dentist appointment.

  • Success measured in their quarterly earnings, not relationships.

Big Tech Optimization

  • "Frictionless" experiences built for speed and conversion, not feeling.

  • Every behavioral science trick in the book. Deceptive tipping practices.

  • Your supporters treated like targets to be gamed.

Neither understands that your donors aren't there to be processed, they're there because something deeply personal compelled them to give back.

The industry built the world's most efficient leaky bucket.

We think there's a better way.

The old question was:

How do I get more donors to complete my form?

The real question is:

How do I get them to stay longer after they do?

Charities that treat the donation experience as the beginning of a relationship—instead of the end of a funnel—see donors who give more, more often and for decades. Not because they were tricked, but because they were seen.

We'd like to think this is a new game, but it holds to three principles fundraisers have always believed in:

Donors feel something when they donate.

Your donors should walk away changed, not just charged. And never feeling like a dollar sign because an algorithm told them how much to tip.

The experience feels like talking to you.

Online fundraising should be personal because it speaks to the real reasons they came – kind of like if you were speaking to them face-to-face.

The donation is the start.

Not the finish line to be optimized. The first gift is memorable "hello," so the next gift feels like a big, warm hug. What happens in between matters.

How we're building raisin for the future:

Giving transforms.

When someone gives, they're expressing who they are and what they value. That moment deserves to be honoured.

We build giving experiences that make donors feel like heroes – not because we manipulate them—but because we let them feel the weight of what they're doing. The giving experience is your first impression. We help you make it worthy of the relationship you're asking them to start.

Empower movements.

Nearly half of all peer-to-peer fundraisers never raise a single dollar. This isn't because they don't care (quite the opposite, when we speak with your supporters) but when they're handed a blank page and a vague instruction to "share with your network," they freeze.

We believe technology should be a trusty sidekick because fundraising really is contagious when it's personal. We build tools that help every community fundraiser become a champion for the causes they're passionate about.

Multiply human capacity.

Nonprofit teams are stretched thin by design, unfortunately. Each hour spent wrestling with technology is an hour not spent on the mission and another hour for something else to be added to your desk.

And while AI can't replace what you do (and never should), it can multiply your efforts and creativity. By way of example, AI should help you tell better stories, rather than blindly pipe in how much more a donor should tip. We're building a self-improving fundraising platform that's based on 20 years of data and innovation and that helps you earn your donors' trust—not spend it.

This is how we see fundraising.

We know this isn't how everyone in the industry thinks, but we also know we're not alone.

If you believe the donation experience should feel like what it supports, we'd love to meet you.
